The Allen family officially announces the passing of Minnie Florence Mills, daughter of our foundation namesake, Lillie Hurst, and mother of our founder, Cassandra Allen.

A Life That Dazzled!

Minnie was born on June 7, 1942, in Reidsville, North Carolina. She was a true showstopper- graceful, radiant, and unapologetically herself. She lit up every room with her presence, her style, and her spirit.

More than anything, she loved her family fiercely and lived each day with strength, faith, and flair.

Her legacy is one of Love, laughter, and living life like it’s your moment in the spotlight.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia 30318. She will be laid to rest at Westview Cemetery, arrangements handled by Gus Thornhill’s Funeral Home, Atlanta, Georgia.

Family, loved ones, and friends are encouraged to share condolences with the family. Flowers and tokens of celebration can be sent to Thornhill Funeral Home.
