“Making A List!”

Mr. Allen had a vision of how he wanted to created a lasting memory of our Lillie’s well before their passing in 2011 and 2014 respectively. Since that time, our family has been building legacy and creating lasting memories for grandparents and seniors raising school aged children since 2015.

Lillie’s Foundation want all grandparents, seniors and guardians raising school aged children to enjoy this special series on the blog sponsored by Allen’s Printing Company called, “Conversations with DA!”

The ninth topic for the series is titled, “Making A List!”

Now listen, everyone from the Sunday school teacher, Santa, mothers on the way to the grocery store and coaches on the way to practice, everyone is making a list to organize our teams, shopping and our everyday lives.

But have you and your Loved ones stopped to make a list important things your family members need to know in case of an emergency?

It doesn’t matter if you write or type your lists, it is however urgently important that you write a list for yourself and your Loved ones. Most people feel like they have plenty of time to plan for the inevitable. But life and death both have an unexpected way of showing up.

Therefore, we’re encouraging you to sit down, make a list of some of the most important things that you want your family to know in case of an emergency or death.

Somethings that you may want to consider for your list are bank accounts. Yes, all of your checking, savings, emergency savings, hidden savings and the shoe boxes under the bed. Ensure that you include credit unions and credit card accounts.

Account numbers for utilities and assets of your house, properties and automobiles.

A log of automatic payments that come out of your accounts on a monthly, quarterly and annual bases.

Life insurance policies, additional policies, pets insurance, other property and vehicle insurances and policies.

Online passwords for email, phone and social media.

Many people don’t think about this, but making a list of family heirlooms that you’re in possession of and things of sentimental value that you would like to see passed down from generation to generation.

If you have a grocery list, Christmas list and Things to Do list, make it a priority to have a list of some of the most important areas and aspects of your life you want your family to know when your time comes.

Check out more of our work and make sure you get connected to Our Grands Network and Educate Grands Program for workshops and more information on this topic.

Lillie’s Foundation is celebrating 8 years of service to grandparents and senior raising school aged children.
