We Believe in Grands!
Over the last 11 years of our work here in Metro Atlanta has impacted over 500 grandfamilies. However, there are thousands of grandparents across Georgia stepping into the role of primary caregiver for school-aged children.
By the end of 2026, the State of Georgia will have over 125, 000 new grandparents and caretakers raising school aged children.
Many will face financial, educational, and emotional challenges while ensuring their grandchildren have safe, stable, and nurturing homes.
Lillie’s Foundation is doing our part by serving 50 grandfamilies on our current caseload and expanding our reach to grandfamilies in Fayetteville, Griffin Spaulding, Clayton and Chatham Counties by 2028.
We need your support.
Starting this year, we are providing Lillie’s CARES packages through our Lillie’s CARES Program. Our Lillie’s CARES Program provides the following:
-
School supplies and educational support
-
Family strengthening programming
-
Resource referrals and advocacy
-
Emergency assistance
-
Community-building opportunities for grandparents and grandchildren
We are looking to connect with faith based institutions, church and civic leaders, school parent coordinators or parent groups and local family advocates in order for us to reach grandfamilies.

You can also donate items for our grandfamilies i.e. school supplies, book bags, crossword puzzles, art kits, logo sets or STEAM related games that would help us to support the 50 grandfamilies on our caseload. The grandchildren are between ages 5 – 18 years old. Contact our Executive Administrator, Keisha Spells, at lilliesfoundationforchange@gmail.com.
