Lift Every Hand to Care

We are celebrating Black Caretakers and Caregivers for the Month of February as a part of our Black History Series.

Annually, during Black History Month, in February on the third Friday is National Caretakers Day. This day was founded in 2015 to bring awareness to and celebrate the professional caregivers i.e. nurses, home health aides and death doulas, as well as family members who unselfishly serve as caregivers.

Who are celebrating:

Nursing professionals like our CFO, Jared Wilson, health advocates like our Board Member Ashley Manning and family members like Valerie Gray and Melvin Harris.

Why are we celebrating:

Lillie’s Foundation is bringing awareness to home, health, and long-term care professionals and family members who are Caregivers. We know that those in the professional field need support and, most importantly, the gift of caring and helping others.

We want to ensure that long term care facilities staff members and professionals have the support they need to:

  1. Provide care to all patients without racial discrimination and bias.
  2. Ensure that elderly care patients receive adequate care.
  3. Engage families and Loved ones of long care patients in care plans.

Each year we celebrate a Caretaker of the Year amplifying the urgency of having compassionate, professionals and family members who are supporting and caring for children or Loved ones in short or long term care.

Solution We’re Offering:

Join us in advocating for RAISE Family Caregivers and Supporting Grandparents Raising Grandchildren’s Acts.

We want stakeholders this year to stay connected to our blog and Lillie’s Foundation “Serve With Compassion” Campaign, as we champion for Caretakers raising school aged children and those professionals serving families with short/long term care.

Support our campaign this year on March 31st, Founder’s Day in which we’re asking 100 people or more across the nation to Love on Lillie’s as we support grandparents and caretakers raising school aged children. Help us support those who serve with compassion.

Please contact us at lilliefoundationforchange@gmail.com if you’d like to be a sponsor or partner of our initiative supporting caretakers and caregivers.
